I have been looking at cheese knifes for a while now. While shopping this morning I came across this grilling basket that I think \ hope will do the trick. It has 1\2 inch squares and my pot 40qt. the front gate should work for most makes and the basket for larger. Time will tell I guess.
Looks good John. I'll have to check out the local Sportsman Warehouse for one.
Looks interesting. Not finding it though. Looked on Amazon, Target, and Bed, Bath & Beyond websites - zero, zip, nada. Google Search for "BB Essentials" turns up nothing. Maybe john H could find a web address on the packaging or identify where he got it. :)
Hey Kern, Dollarama (beside $3.00 in the first picture) is a dollar store here in Canada I think you have dollar tree in the U.S. It is a stainless steal vegetable BBQ grilling basket.
Can't come up with it anywhere. Is there a manufacturer's name on the label?
It is made in china, probably made for dollarama in china. Not sure how far you are from the boarder of it these stores carry the basket but here is store locater link. go to store locater go down to Surrey BC I think is the closest to the boarder.

The edges need to be sharp or it will rip the curds.
This will prob. turn your curds to mush. Also will be hard to clean!
Thanks for your notes of caution. I plan on trying it on the next cheese but will swap it out for a knife in a heart beat if any signs of curd shatter or much.
John
Well that didn't work as well as I had hoped. Instead of cutting it just spun the curd around in the pot. Oh well it was worth a try.
John
Well, thanks for taking the plunge and trying that out. Still we can now look for a basket or such with smaller or liter wire. I'll keep my eyes open something may turn up.
