Hi All
I was so encouraged by my 'success' with 'the blue cheese that never should have been'
https://cheeseforum.org/forum/index.php/topic,15786.0.html (https://cheeseforum.org/forum/index.php/topic,15786.0.html)
that I decided to have a go with Camembert.
I followed Gavin Webber's recipe on Youtube and made three cheeses. I have pictures from Day 1, Day 9, Day 13 and finally after seven weeks which was when I decided to try them. I was very pleased with the taste and texture (and the smell!) The heart-shaped cheese was the least successful (possibly insufficient depth?) but the other two were great - just like the real thing! I'm amazed that I can produce something so impressive just using basic equipment and following relatively simple instructions.
At present, I have to eat my creations myself. I'm still concerned that my cheeses could somehow make people ill! I wonder how long it takes to build confidence...?
Congratulations on your first Camemberts. good to hear that they turned out well.
I don't think you need worry about poisoning anyone. As far as I can tell cheese is a very safe food.
Oh, I forgot to mention, please have a cheese from me.
Very nice looking cams there nym. AC4Y
