Title: Gorgonzola
Post by: AnnDee on February 06, 2017, 01:48:58 PM
2 days ago I bought a piece of precut cheese from deli section, no name of the maker or anything but on the packet it was written gorgonzola.
So I went home and tried it, oh my goodness it was good! I don't even like blue cheese that much.
It tasted sweet and creamy, really yummy, the texture was flexible, slightly soft, almost gooey but not runny.
Today I went back to buy some more, no luck. Gone. Nada. I am addicted to it now. Anyone knows what kind of gorgonzola this might be? I bought another gorgonzola today, individually packed with the brand name on it but it was kind of bitter. I think I want to try on making a gorgonzola, just not sure what kind should I make.

There is a gorgonzola dulce and a gorgonzola picante - the former being more creamy and sweet, the latter being more sharp. I'd guess you got the former?

Actually the new shipment has not come, I think they buy their cheeses every couple of months or so. They are not telling me which make it is which is weird. I am going to go to a different gourmet deli today, hopefully I'll find this gorgonzola.
