Title: Hello From Boston!
Post by: tedstertm on July 06, 2009, 08:29:58 PM
I am a grad student out of Boston brand new to cheese making. I have been brewing beer since I was 17, baking bread for a few years and finally decided to branch my fermentation skills into cheese making! I haven't met a cheese I haven't enjoyed except Kraft mexican mix. I've made my first batch of cheese which was halloumi and it turned out great. I'm looking to make some really gnarly cheeses and whatever else comes to my head.

tedstertm,
Welcome to the forum.

I just got back from a couple of weeks at Boston.  On my last day I spent a couple of hours at a FANTASTIC cheese shop called "The Boston Cheese Cellar (http://www.bostoncheesecellar.com/)"

This is located here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=18+Birch+Street+Roslindale,+MA+02131&sll=40.849787,-81.76403&sspn=0.075962,0.181103&ie=UTF8&ll=42.286493,-71.130263&spn=0.004643,0.011319&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A).
18 Birch Street Roslindale, MA 02131

I spoke with Cathy and she as very quick to let me try whatever looked good.  I ended up with some really really nice cheese.
