Title: hispanico cheese making
Post by: goldbarranchbb@yahoo.com on November 24, 2017, 06:08:41 PM
Hi my name is Ella.  I made hispanico cheese this week and have a question.  The  staring temp. is at 86 degrees.  When I ad the culture, it seemed to not want to dissolve. The milk seemed too cool to dissolve it.  What gives?

Welcome to the forum!! The cultures should be a powder you sprinkle over the top of the milk in the pot.  After about 10 minutes, time to allow them to re-hydrate, you simply stir them in.  They don't "dissolve".  Here's a cheese for your hispanico! ;D   Nice ranch!!
