Title: Newbie Cheesemaker
Post by: kayjay on December 29, 2017, 09:26:50 PM
Hello everyone.  I am here from Long Island, NY and am starting to make my first batch of cheese. Very excited.  I have done a bunch of reading. However, the "kit" I received for my birthday in August is being put to use today. However, I ran into my first "oops"  I didn't dilute the Rennet before adding it to the milk. So off I go to get more milke and try again.
Looking forward to being here more often as well as learning all I can.

Hi Kayjay. Welcome to the forum.
Don't worry, we all have our "oops" moments.
When you added the rennet, did you keep going to see what would happen?

Hi everyone, thank you.  Raw Prawn, after adding the Rennet, I did wait another hour just to make sure, but no.  So I tried again today and have had success. I have the cheese in the press as we speak.  So we are making some forward progress.

Happy New Year.
