Title: Good Evening
Post by: m.scott waters on February 01, 2019, 12:57:33 AM
Hello from western Ohio... North of Dayton area as in Troy.

My username is my name, no need for an alias.  The m is for Michael.  I was born in central Indiana and attended Purdue University.  After spending most of my life in my hometown my ex-wife and I decided to go our separate ways.  My curiosity, another woman, led me to Ohio.  I liked the area so I uprooted and moved to Ohio about 7 years ago.  I am finally a happy man  :D

I have always liked doing things myself.  I built my own garage, work on my vehicles and do the maintenance on our house.  I process my own deer, make self bows and brew beer just to name a few.  I have always had a passion for cheese and I love all types .... pretty much anything I can get my hands on at a reasonable price.  Note - I have yet to brave Limburger thought I hear it is splendid ... that is if you can get past the odor.

My intentions prior to getting divorced were to obtain a few milk goats so that we could harvest the raw milk and make cheese at home.  I know it would have been quite an undertaking, but we already had laying hens and horses so it wasn't undoable.  Obviously it didn't work out.

For some reason I happened across a cheese making video the other day and it rekindled my interest.  I have watched several of Gavin Weber's (The Cheese Man I guess he is called) videos and I am ready to take on the challenge.  I have pretty much setup my home brewery which is very simple but effective and efficient, so I am now prepared to become a cheese monger, lol.

So ..... short story long, here I am.  Hope to make a few friends along the way to gaining some valuable knowledge of the process.
