Title: Review: USA Made HEB Grocery Store Brand Skim Milk Ricotta Cheese
Post by: Cheese Head on August 09, 2009, 02:15:09 PM
Bought a 15 ounce / 0.425 kilogram plastic container of USA made HEB Grocery Store own brand Part Skim Milk Ricotta for USD1.7.

Container labelling says:
I suspect those "stabilizers" are actually thickeners.

Under lid there was a safety sheet of transparent plastic, with very little air between it and the cheese, presumably once open to air, cheese starts to degrade.

When "stirred" with fork. When frigerator cold, the consistency of melting ice cream. Light scent and flavour, slighly soft grainy texture, tastes OK, liked Biazzo Brand Whole Milk Ricotta (https://cheeseforum.org/forum/index.php/topic,1472.0.html) better.
