Title: Cheese with vermouth?
Post by: Degrees on August 10, 2009, 06:16:36 AM
I've recently discovered wine ater drinking spirits most of my life. I'm only 20, forgive me ignorance. But I've become really fond of vermouth. I like rosso, bianco and dry; theyre all good. Usually I have it with olives, but i want to know a nice cheese to accompany it. As far as i know it's an italian wine, so i would assume an italian cheese would go with it. Though I'm new to the world of cheese and wine to I' probably wrong.

start with a 6 year old gouda, follow with a mold ripened, leaf wrapped cheese, preferably mixed milk.  finish with an apple wood smoked cheddar.

keep the vermouth sweet.
