Title: Abergavenny cheese wannabe
Post by: ChickenPoopShoes on June 14, 2020, 11:40:00 PM
Hello, I'm brand new to cheese-making and I live in Abergavenny. Am quite hopeful about my cheese-making future, armed with a Mad Millie hard cheese kit that I got for my birthday and access to some great dairy farms- goat and cattle. Want to start well so that I don't waste food!

I'm sure you'll find cheese-making is a rewarding and interesting pursuit.
May your cheeses be flavoursome and your yield be awesome :)

Welcome to the cheese forum!!

I'm in England, a country somewhere near the borders of Wales ;)
I make cheese, beer and bread, which go well together.

I know of England! I have heard tell of such a land!. Actually, I grew up in surrey, so not a Welsh girl. Or, in fact, a British girl... I'm a Spaniard. So I WILL be having a go at a Manchego at some point...
I make bread (just for family munching purposes, not for skills) but I only make a limited repertoir as I make to eat and I have three boys and a husband who make short work of it... Basically a white farmhouse loaf, a wholemeal loaf and what we call 'Pan' or a more spanish type bread that we make in to buns.
I also make soap from locally sourced suet
We are occassional booze appreciators but not frequent drinkers so we tend to wait for my Dad to gift us fancy Spanish wines rather than trying to make them ourselves!
