Title: Shipping Cheese?
Post by: bansidhe on May 12, 2021, 03:56:35 PM
Have any of you every sent one of your cheeseterpieces to friends or family?  If so, which type of cheese did you send? How did you send it?  How did you package it?

thanks!

Insulated box (syrofoam box, or reflective bubble pouch) plus several ice packs should do it.

Talking about cheese packaging... If you'd send the cheese to Germany, will you have to license the packaging of the cheese? :D I have a little online shop and started reading about the responsibilities concerning shipping to Germany. That's why I found that thing called the German Packaging Act: https://www.lizenzero.de/en/blog/german-packaging-act-in-the-uk-obligations-when-shipping-to-germany/ (https://www.lizenzero.de/en/blog/german-packaging-act-in-the-uk-obligations-when-shipping-to-germany/) (here UK specific)

I tried to send a Camblu to my brother in TN.  I sent it on Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday,  It did not look happy.  :-(. I used a styrofoam box, some insulated packaging and an ice pack.  I think shipping a hard or semi hard cheese would work out much better.
