Title: Diy cheese press
Post by: Aris on August 01, 2021, 12:07:56 AM
It is basically just two pots with one pot filled with water which weighs 20 lbs. I added a frying pan on top and put 25 lbs. of weights with a combined weight of almost 50 lbs. My cheddar came out properly knit using this press. It is very stable and presses evenly.

Very nice!

Looks similar in concept and design to this bucket press design: https://theartofcheese.com/make-a-bucket-press/ (https://theartofcheese.com/make-a-bucket-press/)

The weights on top add more pressure, but I imagine you could put the top on the upper bucket and place additional weight there as well. I have some unused wine juice buckets and you've inspired me to try using them for cheese pressing!
