Title: Can I make a B. Linens heirloom culture
Post by: tichem on October 22, 2021, 06:58:39 AM
Hi everyone.

I've found articles on propagating your own meso and thermo cultures but is it possible to keep alive a B. Linens culture in milk?

You don't need to culture it in milk. It is already in the environment and on yourself. Just wash the cheese with 3-4% brine every day or every other day for at least a week and it will appear eventually. No need to buy cultures imo. I even tried using cold brewed oolong tea as a wash (no salt) and B. linens grew in a week or so. I think even plain water would work.
