Title: Review: Greek Fage Brand Strained-Greek Style Yogurt
Post by: Cheese Head on September 20, 2009, 04:52:48 PM
Bought this Fage brand strained "Greek" style 2% cow's milk yogurt back in early August for USD2.50. Just found at back of fridge, expiry days says Aug 14, 2009, 5 weeks ago! Fage's USA website (http://www.fageusa.com) says they are owned by Fage Dairy Industry S.A. (http://www.fage.gr) Greece's largest dairy company.

Decided to open and try anyway along with two of kids orphan Eggo waffles lost in back of freezer.

Pictures below of Strained/Greek style yogurt (https://cheeseforum.org/Recipes/Recipes.htm) on toasted Eggo's!

I assume the paper on top is to soak any excess whey.

In summary, very nice for >1 month product, taste is light, basically a thick spreadable yogurt like we used to get when lived in Damascus called Lebneh.

Did you save some for your next batch of yogurt? It looks rather yummy!
