Has anyone tried using soy wax alone or mixed with beeswax for coating cheese?
I have a couple of pounds of soy wax, along with some beeswax here at home (but no cheese wax) :(.
Here's a description of the soy wax: http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/3632352-AA.shtml (http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/3632352-AA.shtml) It's got a much lower melting point than paraffin and it doesn't crack the same way. I'm thinking of doing some experimenting....
Would love to hear about any experiences.
interesting...
First of all make sure its non-toxic and there are no added chemicals (I don't even know what that might be, but it is a manufactured product) since it doesn't seem like it is intended for food-preserving applications.
After that, I suppose just experiment.
