My wife just brought home a cheese that looks like brie. It has the hard white crusty exterior and the soft, creamy interior. It looks like brie but it has a gamier flavor . . fuller and sharper. The label said it was from England. I know my English Grandfather loved Limburger Cheese . . . I've never had Limburger but I'm wondering . . . could this stuff be Limburger, or a type of Limburger? Thanks for any feedback.
Well, since no one has responded to this . . . I went to Google Images and looked up images of Limburger cheese . . . and yes indeed much of the stuff does indeed look like Brie . . . No one wated to tell me so I just looked it up myself. Hard white crusty stuff on the outside and soft creamy interior . . shaped in a circle. Now my only question is this. How does the taste of Limburger compare to Brie? Is it fuller, riper, sharper? I would really like some feedback from someone with some experience here. Thanks.
Wish I could have help you but I have never seen Limburger out of the wrapping so I hvae no idea. I know it smelled really stron even under the foil and plastic wrap so I didn't buy it.
