Title: Braided String Cheese - Pictures Of American Brands @ Houston Texas
Post by: Cheese Head on December 09, 2010, 12:09:56 AM
We have a new member here Abdelhafeiz based in Sudan who is our first that makes cow's milk based Braided / String Cheese.

I first came across this very popular cheese when my family and I worked and lived in Syria, it's a stringy cheese like mozarella can be but drier, just wish I took some pictures. But I did last year here in Houston Texas Phoenicia Grocery store of some USA made ones, so I've attached them below for others to understand what this cheese looks like.

They look pretty, & the type with olive oil, garlic, & herbs has my mouth watering... I'd like to watch while they're being braided by hand... and try to make my own some day. Thanks for posting the photos. I wonder if my local food co-op carries this cheese, I'm going to look! How cool to have a cheesemaker from Sudan on the forum!
