Title: Farmers Cheese?
Post by: Mersunwea on March 22, 2011, 04:37:41 PM
Hi,
I am looking for a recipe to make Farmers Cheese. This is a fresh cheese used in cooking.
Would be great if somebody can share.
Thanks!

My recipe:

http://www.wacheese.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68:making-tvorog-with-buttermilk&catid=35:fresh-cheese-acid-coagulation&Itemid=59 (http://www.wacheese.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68:making-tvorog-with-buttermilk&catid=35:fresh-cheese-acid-coagulation&Itemid=59)

The gist of it is that you take buttermilk and heat it until it coagulates, then drain. You can use store buttermilk, or make your own cultured buttermilk.
