Title: Mozarrella Making - Gloves To Protect Hands From Heat
Post by: Bones404 on May 15, 2011, 03:12:14 PM
I need a resource for food grade gloves that can protect my hands from the heat of the cooked cheese when making mozzarella. I see light yellow gloves on people in U-Tube videos, but no one mentions their manufacturer. I have looked in the cheese making supply catalogues and see nothing there either. I have never worked in the food service industry am I missing something obvious here?
BTW, thanks for all the great articles, I am going to try the kasseri recipe here as soon as I find the gloves :-)

Google '' Watson gloves '' they have everything you could imagine.
I just use disposable latex gloves, doubled up you can stretch mozzarella comfortably.

I use a pair on thin winter gloves under a pair of kitchen cleaning gloves and this seems to work out well for me. My hands will sweat alot but they don't get scalded.

I just use one pair of plain old kitchen cleaning gloves.  It is warm, but very tolerable.

Good, simple solid advice, thank you all.
Say "cheese" as often as possible :-)
