Hi Everyone,
I am so pleased that I found this forum - looks like the right place for a budding newbie cheese maker.
A bit about me: I live in Devon in the UK, and have been making natural soaps and skincare products for many years which has been very enjoyable, though I feel it is time that I should be making something that I and my family can actually get our teeth into, so having bought and read many cheese making books, read many blogs and how to do it on the internet, I am now going to have a go - eeekkk!
Bye for now,
Louise
Hi Louise and welcome!
Eeek is right, first time I started making cheese it was exactly that, but successes and failures it is fun!
As a side note, when a kid my Mum used to say she would wash my moth out with soap if I swore, I still remember around 10 she did it once, and I agree, soap is definitely not for eating! Yuk!
FYI, there's a starter guide here: https://cheeseforum.org/articles/wiki-recommendations-for-new-cheese-makers/ (https://cheeseforum.org/articles/wiki-recommendations-for-new-cheese-makers/)
Have fun.
Thanks John for that link, a very informative read :)
Welcome to the forum Louise!
:) I hadn't see your post, I love Devon, it is a lovely part of the UK. The "Cheese Slices" program is hosted by a brit, can't remember his last name but is probably on the BBC or somewhere. I'll try to find out. I found it really interesting.
Regards
David
