I have tried changing my notifications choices a number of times. I am having to
scroll though my previous posts and look for subsequent posts. Am I doing something
wrong?

Annie, I don't know about the notifications, but I've found it's easier to just start my mornings (coffee in hand) by clicking the "Show unread posts since last visit" link up top. Then I'm treated to lots of interesting and informative (and occasionally poetical) reading material whilst I sip.
That is exactly what I am referring to. When I log in, the first thing I do is hit the
'replies'. Lately, quite often but not always, I come up with nothing. But when
I look through my posts, there is a new reply.

I don't look for the replies, I look for unread posts (the one just above the replies link).
