Title: Review: Canada Made La Maison Alexis De Portneuf's Belle Creme
Post by: Cheese Head on July 26, 2011, 12:10:54 AM
Visiting my folks in Vancouver BC Canada again last week. My Dad loves this Quebec Canada made La Maison Alexis Portneuf's Belle Creme which looks, smells, and tastes exactly like a Brie/Camembert but which they call a "Surface Ripened Soft Cheese", presumably as in Canada recognized the French trademarked Brie & Camembert names.

The French description is "Fromage A Pate Molle Affine En Surface" which I translate (please correct if wrong) as a "Soft Paste Cheese Aged From Surface".

Bought a couple in local Costco member warehouse store for CDN8 each. Beautiful and creamy, even for a triple cream! Delicious taste, would definitely buy again.

Ingredients list: Pasteurized milk and cream, modified milk ingredients, bacterial (starter) culture, salt, calcium chloride, microbial enzyme (microbial rennet), P candidum, and colour.
