Riha, the website doesn't say but I assume they are stainless steel as otherwise in humid climate here in Houston they would rust quite quickly. Nope haven't used yet, soon
. I don't have a tool for measuring how thick the wire is. So here's a picture of a flex test. From above picture you can see wire is already partly bent, handles are solid plastic but small and total wire length is 300 mm/11-7/8". Hope it gives you a feel for the wire's thickness/strength, they are thin but not that thin like you get on some fine fishing line. I couldn't see reeling this onto a fishing reel.
I'd have never found them in that webstore if after choosing my other items I hadn't had a quick search on that website on word "cheese".
