Humidifier output control

I recently converted a freezer-top refrigerator into a cave and couldn’t get the humidity under control with a small amount of cheese (I’m working on building it up), so I installed this humidifier with a humidistat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078ST4Z8R/

My question is, it’s output blows up (as most humidifiers do) and as it’s positioned on the bottom of my fridge, im worried about it blowing directly on a wheel. Should I just construct a little hood/diverged so that it blows a bit more towards a wall/door? Does anyone have any other options?

Just to update the thread in case anyone finds this, that humidifier was terribly slow to catch up after the fridge would dry out while cooling. I ended up switching to a separate humidistat and a pond mister (so i don't have to worry about it coming on when its switched by the controller).

Thanks for the update.  I'm looking at options right now.  This might be perfect.  I'll probably make my own 24V humidistat, but the ultrasonic fogger is perfect.

That mister thing is cool, and cheap!  So do you just have it in a container of water in your cave?  It says not heat or chemicals, so I assume it is ultrasonic?  Does it make any discernable noise?

I use the Inkbird ITC-308 Temperature Controller with IHC-200 Humidity Controllers and am very happy with them for my cheese and cured meat cave for years.

no noise, its very very quiet. I just have it sitting in a large mixing bowl of water right now as a test. I might put it in a tall tupperware of some sorts as it seems to splash a little bit, which isn't a dealbreaker for me.

I have an inkbird temp on my beer fridge and it's worked like a champ - spot on temp.  Dumb question but it looks like one "set" is the green thermo and Blue humidistat, right?  They are just two separate controllers?  With the ITC-608T, both temp and RH are controlled in the same unit, right?  Just curious why both are the same price.

I had a fogging system from John of Perfect Cheese.  Man I loved that thing, sad he's no longer in business.

You need to get the float for the mister as they are very sensitive to how deep they are in the water.

Duntov, taking another look at your setup, (1) that's a full size refrigerator, yes?  (2)  How many heads are you using for a fogger; (3) I'm having a ton of condensation in my wine cooler, with just the exposed fogger.  Your design looks something like I recall from John of Perfect cheese, with the nozzle.  I'm sure this is obvious but anyone who knows me from here (or elsewhere, lol), knows I have no engineering ability:  what is the purpose of that exit "nozzle?"; finally, do you have some sort of float demand for your water supply, so basically you can forget about it?

For anyone following or finding this thread, I've made some changes/additions to the setup and am 100% happy so far.

The fan was the last crucial part to the system. I have it currently blowing across the humidifier/bowl so the fog doesn't build up. It keeps my current target of 85% even with the fridge running. All my cheese is vac packed right now while I got this built/in place, but will be making a batch to test it out soon. If I get too much airflow I'll put in some baffles/boards to help cut down on it. I don't think it will be a problem as I start my batches up on the top rack.

How do you keep the ultrasonic transducer from spewing water all over the place?  I've got one of those and have been testing different types of reservoirs to allow the mist to rise without the water getting all over.

BTW, the dog water thing is brilliant!
