Greetings from Ohio (again!)
« on: September 19, 2023, 06:07:37 PM »
Hey all!  Glad to be back - had to take a hiatus from the board (and from most of my cheesemaking - though I was making lots chèvre).  Looking forward to getting back into the forum.

Welcome back!

Where do you get your goat's milk from?

I bought into a herd share from a farmer out past Batavia Ohio.  https://www.nigeriandwarfgoats.net
Every 2-3 weeks I get 2 gallons of raw milk (12 dollars a gallon).  Recently, he's had more production so this past week I was able to get 3 gallons.
We meet at a cracker barrel off the highway - I'm sure it looks sketchy - me walking up to the farmer with some cash and the he handing me some milk lol!

Oh. That's out by Cincinnati. Drats! I was hoping it was closer to where I'm located as I am looking for a goat milk source.

Oh well... search continues...

Continued good luck to you... and I can see the looks you're getting!    8)
