Did I crush my Flora Danica to death?

I am new to cheesemaking and just received my first order of goodies from New England Cheesemaking.  I made a batch of creme fresh using Flora Danica and vacuum sealed it in a bag before putting it back in the freezer.  The vacuum seemed to crush and crunch the packet a bit.  Will that damage the culture?  Should I have just sealed it without vacuuming it?

I wouldn't think it would hurt it.  I usually crunch the pellets before adding them to the milk and never had a problem.

I always vacuum seal and freeze my dry cultures after using. Once I left the vacuum chamber with the previous setting -a long marinade, so it was crunched solid. Never had an issue.

You'll be ok, plus now you have an incentive to do another cheese with FD ASAP so you can test it :)

Ok!  Thanks both, and yes, I'm making butterkase this weekend and will use the FD in that
