Anyone know where to get good cheesecloth in larger quantities?  I'm tired of ordering a yard, or two at a time and paying way too much for it.

Thanks,

~ C.

Regular 90-count muslin cloth works well if you want natural cloth, and you can get that for ~1.50/yard at most fabric shops. Heck, even walmart has it in their fabric section. Or are you looking for something in the 60-count range?

90 count is probably just fine, unless I need to drain something fast.  90 is probably similar to butter muslin.

Thanks...I'm off to Wally World!

yep, 90 is butter muslin. Jo anne fabrics and michael's also have regular 90 muslin. They have coupons sometimes for 50% off one item or similar, so you could get a really great deal on a bolt, $30 or $40 or so, and that's usually about 60 yards of fabric...

I've been using relatively sheer white curtain material from a bolt purchased long ago. I dont know what current costs are, buy you might also check with a remnant or upholstry store that sells odd ends of bolts for less.

Of course it's hard to beat those Michael's 40-50% coupons LB mentioned. For those check your Sunday morning paper - that's where I used to see them. Also, sometimes if you go into Michael's and purchase some little thing, you'll get a good coupon with your receipt.

Dont forget to check the width of the bolt/fabric so you'll be able to cut as many useful pieces as possible of the size you use.

Gina, I've used that sheer curtain fabric before, too! I go into craft stores sometimes and look around for stuff I can use for my cheesemaking :)

I bought my mine from Walmart through online. You can check their website and compare the price to other marketplace. They absolutely sell it in a low cost.
