Does freezing of liquid animal-based (cow) rennet damage it in any way, or reduce its effectiveness?  What if "freezing" means down to -15 F or so?

Thanks,
Brian

You cannot freeze liquid rennet.

Once refrigerated, rennet can last a very long time (1 year?), but gradually looses it's potency or effectiveness over time.

I was afraid of that.  Someone is shipping me some rennet, a gift you might say, and I didn't remember the fact that we'll be out of town as of tomorrow for 2 weeks.  It's 2 below zero right now.  If the package doesn't arrive today, then it'll show up while we're gone and the rennet will freeze solid before we get back.  Ooops?   :o  It's OK though.  I'll get some more...
