Hello all,

Been some time.  Health has been poor and afraid I'm no longer making cheese.  Life goes on.

Med bills merit selling stuff once more.  I hope others can put it to good use.

And for any alpine makers or aspirants:

Authentic, Abondance hoop (concave side), large - this makes about 18-20 lbs cheese.  Used for, maybe 5 or 6 (it's been some time, sorry), letting this one go cheap as it's just so weird - unless you're from Abondance, or John Putnam from Thistle Hill, but he's got all he needs (nice guy, btw).  So, $40.

Baguette to go with that hoop, for scooping out the vat.  $25.

Please ask away with any questions.  I haven't been on forever, but please feel free to e-mail with anything, gadjolune AT gmale com.  Many thanks, and happy cheesemaking, all.

Danbo

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry to hear that your health is poor. :(

It's some interesting gear you have for sale. Unfortunately the import taxes in Denmark are high (even for used items). I hope that some of the other members finds your equipment interesting.

All my best wishes :)

Thank you for your kind thoughts, Danbo.  I loved reading your posts and have really enjoyed watching your journey.  My best wishes to you and my at least partial mother-country (!) as you continue.  My very best, friend.

Paul - I can't help you with purchases being from Australia, but I too want to wish you all the best with your health.

Usually if one person asks a question then 10 are waiting for the answer - Please ask !

So glad to hear from you but so, so sorry you have to give up the cheesemaking.  I'll email separately about the equipment (if anything's left).  I hope you will still be able to

John@PC

Sorry about that - the cat hit the send button when I wasn't looking.  I meant to say I hope you can still check in from time to time to help us mere cheesemaking mortals with your wise advice and probing questions.  If the forum has a true "Man for all Seasons" it is you my friend.  Time to sit down and write your life story  ;) (which no doubt would be a best seller!).  And for all of the help you have given me, one more cheese for you  :).

Guys, I'm sorry for the late reply - I don't know why, but I don't get notifications to posts and I'd thought there were none here.

I just want to say thank you for your kindness.  This forum is such a tremendous, caring and knowledgeable group of people, the warmest and most pleasurable community online I've ever come across.

My knowledge is nothing compared to many, many others here and I'm humbled, John, for your thinking of my contributions so.  Always worry whether you're writing for an audience of one, and I hope whatever I've written has been helpful to others.

John, I got your e-mail, thank you.  I'll write in a minute.

All the very best, each and every one of you here, and on the forum generally.

Updates made.  If anyone is interested in any of this alpine stuff, please let me know.  We can work something out.

Thanks guys.

Stinky

Although I'd love them, of course, I don't have the premises for such large batches yet.

ArnaudForestier

Thanks Stinky - always hope! (or chance of catching the sickness to do huge batches)!!!

Also selling a couple stainless steel milk cans, guys.  One is an 8 gallon, bought from Bob White Systems for $189 (thank you for that one, Tiarella).  Will let it go for $85, plus shipping.

The other is a make recommended by Oude Kaas, company eludes me, sorry, but it's what he uses in his creamery and these are top notch.  10 gallons, will let it go for $110, plus shipping.

Thanks for looking all, hope spring finds you happy and well.
