I need to buy some annatto and eventually more rennet. Any suggestions about the cheapest supplier?

Also any suggestions about a ph meter. I guess this site is affecting me. I already bought the foodsaver, i am upgrading my press and now i am wanting to measure acidity! :)

I get my Annotto here:

This is my pH Meter.  I got it from here.

There is extensive discussion buried here in this forum with regards to pH meters.  Mine is not the best by far.  I think Likespace (might be wrong) has the best meter I know of.
But for me, this seems to get the job done.

If taken care of, (ahem), this meter will last a long time and auto corrects for temperature, and tells you when it needs calibration.

I will add that buying a pH meter is one of the most important buys a cheesemaker can make if they want to bring any amount of precision to the process.
Well... Perhaps a thermometer might actually be more important, but pH is definately 2nd place then.
Hmm a good pot might be up there too,...  a ph meter is definately third then.
well rennet is important too..........
:D

Thanks Wayne. I figured I was way behind on this discussion but couldn't find the info on here quickly.

I just bought an Extech PH100 on E-Bay for $41.

One other nice thing about these meters is that you can get a pH reading from the curds, and final cheese too.

Just soap/water.
Starsan/rinse.

Farmer, not to hijack this thread, but I built some info webpages on different types of rennet, may be of use. Maybe we should have a new thread/discussion just on Rennet types.

Thanks John, I'll check it out.
