Hello everyone. I joined about 2 weeks ago and started my adventures in the cheese making world them. i have thought about making some cheese for some time now and i like to do things my self so instead of paying $300 for a cheese press i looked some up online and just made my own version of it. ( will post pics later )

I can say that I made my first Cheddar cheese over the weekend and it is air drying now. smells like cheese, looks like cheese, lets home its cheese.

Little about me for the intro.... I'm 26 yrs old and I'm an IT major. I work for a cyber school and starting my own computer company. As stated before i like to do hands on things and DIY projects. I'm looking fwd to making many different cheeses. I'm also venturing into the Home Brewing world as well.

Welcome to the forum Rowin- what types of cheese are you interested in making?

rowin

@ John Thanks.
@ zenith1, im actually interested in really any cheese. i know from our local market district giant eagle there are over 400 types of cheese they have there. so i guess with that being said i have to make all types of cheese to see what all i like and i don't like. right now my setup is a 4in diameter pvc pipe by about 5in tall.

I'm just doing 1 gallon at a time now till i get some more things at the house to do a little more at one time. I just made my first Cheddar cheese over the weekend. Looks good to me. Smells good..  (ill post pics after i get home) Started to crack a little yesterday drying. This weekend i may make a Swiss and Mozzarella. After that i think it will be a Gouda. And then I'm open to try and make any style of cheese.  i have a few questions that i will post on the correct place tho.
