Hi

My name is Fritz Brand, I live in Cape Town, South Africa.

I have recently started a food blog, www.realmencancook.co.za and it has led me into the world of artisan foods, not just the regular off the shelf stuff.  I like to try my hand at many things (I also have my own Blues band on the go) so after I tasted some locally produced "fresh" mozzarella I knew I had to try my hand at making it. I did some research, sourced decent raw milk and I am happy to report a great success at my first attempt.

I have now made two successful batches of "fior di latte" mozzarella, but being a bit of a perfectionist, I am here to try and see how I can better my methods to produce a superior cheese.
